A full update on the Atlantis World NFT characters – including utility, mint mechanics and sale phases.
Good morning, good afternoon and good evening wherever you are Atlanteans!
We come to you with an update on the Atlantean Characters NFT Collection, which we first announced in August 2022 here.
A few things have changed. This article will answer the following questions:
What are the benefits and perks of owning an Atlantean Character?
How and when will the mint proceed?
How will the funds raised be allocated?

The Perks
1 – Pixel Art
First and foremost, if you’re like us then you love pixel art for the nostalgia it brings.
2 – 2D Character Walk Cycles
Before, all Atlanteans were hiding under robes. Scroll holders were the only ones with robes adorned with 1 of the 4 Guilds’ colours.
This will soon change. In Atlantis World, the default character sprite is the cloaked Atlantean (see below). However, if you hold a Character NFT, you will get your very own in-game sprite equivalent with walk cycles.
3 – Own the Commercial Rights
If you are an Atlantean Character holder, you have IP rights. Meaning, you can monetise your character by licensing the IP. So if someone wants to use your character in their artwork, you must license those rights in exchange for use. These rights are non-exclusive however, meaning that Atlantis World will have a perpetual commercial license.
Soon, we will share the Atlantean Characters License Agreement, which is the legal description of those rights.
4 – Become a Guild Member
Each Character NFT, just like the Scrolls, assign the holder to 1 of the 4 Guilds: Aer, Ignis, Aqua and Ignis.
Each Guild has its own Guild House in-game, and the opportunity to create its own sub-culture. For example, each member is free to organise and host Guild-specific activities, therefore carving out the Guild’s community culture.
In short, as a Guild member you have the agency to add value to your Guild and collaborate with other members on whatever you decide! Who knows, Aer Guild may become known across Atlantis World for documenting the lore whereas Ignis Guild may gain the reputation of most competitive players. Only time will tell.
5 – AtlanteanDAO Base Governance
AtlanteanDAO will be play an important role in the management of Atlantis World in the future. There are different verticals to this, but the principle remains that Atlantis World is a game that will serve as a public good. Community members with governance power will have the agency to vote on proposals as they see fit.
Holders of the Atlantean Character NFT will be given base governance, which is essentially a starter voting power which can be built upon through in-game participation and quest completions.
Something to note is that although Characters are transferrable, any participation powers are reset when the NFT is traded in order to ensure as far as possible that voting powers are in direct correlation with amount of time and effort invested into Atlantis World.
(Participate-to-govern model building in progress, more on this later).
6 – Eternal AW Whitelist
As a holder you will automatically be granted WL to future collections and curated ecosystem partner opportunities.
7 – Genesis Atlantean Loot Drop
The loot drop will be distributed once the game loot system and economy has been built out, which will include limited edition items with utility and without.
8 – Special Ecosystem Giveaways
The Atlantis World ecosystem is vast! We often collaborate with our partners to host community giveaways, contests and other activities.
For Atlantean Character holders, we will be hosting exclusive giveaways.
The Mint
All dates to be announced, coming Q1 2023.
Note: if you still hold a Magical Key NFT, you may want to keep it as a piece of on-chain memorabilia, or burn it for a Scroll thus allowing you to claim an Atlantean Character during Phase 3.

Group – Founding Atlanteans aka those who hold Scroll NFTs.
Mint Price – FREE + Gas Fee in ETH

Allocation of Raised Funds
Atlantis World is a fully bootstrapped project, we are a growing team of 15, and have been fully independent for over 1 year.
All of the funds raised from the sale and 6.9% royalties will be invested towards the development of the game, which includes supporting the team and making sure we continue to have access to resources.
