Atlantis World receives grant from Optimism to build & drive adoption of onchain games
Optimism Grants Council voted in favour of Atlantis World being funded to speedrun the adoption of onchain games by launching titles and contributing to infrastructure in the OP Stack ecosystem.
Gm, Atlanteans! Today, we have something very exciting to share with you all…
In one of the most competitive Optimism Grants Cycle to date, with just 16 projects being selected to receive builder funding, Atlantis World joined the ranks of trailblazers like Aragon and Redstone as Cycle 13 grantees to build onchain games and contribute to gaming infrastructure in the OP Stack ecosystem.
Throughout the last 2 years of building a gamified social onboarding platform with 16,000+ players, we amassed invaluable feedback from the strength of our core community and expansive partner ecosystem.
The core critical learnings of our previous experiments led us to understand that user generated content is a highly effective & scaleable product growth strategy, as we’d previously been bottlenecked by creating game assets like cities and branded clubhouses with dapp integrations & interactive onboarding quests for our partners.
Beyond that, we also understood that Atlantis World v1 critically lacked retention mechanics and robust game design. Our core team spent the majority of time & resources to activate the product by hosting events. As a fully bootstrapped project with no private investors, fuelled wholly by our community and grant funding, we decided to close the Alpha and radically reevaluate our long term product direction.
Atlantis World is evolving into an R&D company that builds onchain games and contributes to novel roll-up design infrastructure, with the mission of speedrunning the adoption of onchain games and the wider web3 ecosystem.
Stay tuned for our upcoming public roadmap and news about our first onchain game title <redacted> 🚀!
